SAFETY

Is it safe to fly?

You might have heard it a million times: According to statistical analysis, it is safer to fly than to ride in a car. But somehow, there is still doubt in your mind? General aviation is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) which mandates strict laws and rules concerned with flying. Each aircraft needs to be inspected annually, after 100 hours flown and before each flight. Every flight instructor in order to be able to train others goes through rigorous theoretical and practical testing, a training that not many of us could endure. Actually, due to rigor and demands placed on pilots, a pilot training dropout rate is 50-80% depending on the stage of their training.

Rest assured, every single aspect of flying is thoroughly and heavily regulated and backed up by our academy’s adherence to the strictest industry standards.

How do you ensure and reinforce safety?

Here at Avia, safety is our core value. Safety of our customers, pilots/instructors and planes is what we don't leave to regulations solely. We go beyond the required to ensure you are safe and feel confident to fly with us. Our instructors are additionally trained to adhere to the strictest standards, and we reinforce continuous learning as the only acceptable way to be exceptional, accident-free pilot and instructor.

EXPERIENCE

Do we get to fly for real while on the plane?

Yes, you will get the opportunity to take over the controls and fly. You will sit in the front seat next to your instructor. When it is safe to do so, your instructor will give you an opportunity to fly the airplane. Of course, he/she is here with double controls to take it back, if you don’t feel comfortable. No pressure, maybe you can try again on your next flight.

How will I know what to do?

Before the flight, in a 30 mins session, your instructor will go over the basics with you: flight controls, pre-flight briefings and safety procedures. You will know exactly to do.

What should I bring with me?

Bring a camera to take pictures, you will be amazed by the sights you see.

We will provide you with refreshments and snacks before the flight, so don’t worry about hydration.

We advise to dress in layers, especially in the summer months, it can get cooler up there.
